In my pursuit of a healthier lifestyle I found a lot of helpful tips to improve my health.  Most of these I have used and others have been used and verified by colleagues.  Please use them as you see fit.

HEADACHES – Eat lots of FISH for protein as fish oil helps to prevent headaches.  Ginger will reduce inflammation and pain to prevent headaches and reduce swelling from injuries and your joints.

HAYFEVER – Eat lots of yogurt before and during pollen season. Reduce intake of dairy products.

STROKES – Tea wards off buildup of fatty deposit on your artery walls. Of course you may want to drink decaf tea to prevent the side effects from caffeine.

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE – Olive oil has been shown to lower blood pressure. Celery contains ingredients that lower blood pressure.   The greener stalks of celery are a good source of vitamin A, and celery is also a good source of vitamins B1 and G. It is rich in chlorine, sodium, potassium, and magnesium.

CLOGGED ARTERIES – The non-saturated fat in avocados can lower your cholesterol. High cholesterol is an indication of possible clogged arteries.

INSOMNIA – Use Honey as a natural tranquilizer and as a sedative.

MEMORY PROBLEMS – Oysters help increase your mental functioning by supplying zinc.

BREAST CANCER – Excessive estrogen has been hinted as a possible cause of breast cancer. Wheat Bran and Cabbage help maintain estrogen at a healthy level.

LUNG CANCER – A good antidote for lung cancer is beta-carotene which has Vitamin A found in orange and green vegetables.

ASTHMA – Eating Red Onions help ease the constriction of your bronchial tubes.

COUGH – Red Peppers are the richest source of vitamins A and C. It has the same substance similar to that found in cough syrup.

ARTHRITIS – Does salmon, tuna, mackerel and sardines actually prevent arthritis? Some have said they saw an improvement in their joints.  Ginger will reduce inflammation and reduce swelling from injuries and your joints

UPSET STOMACH – Bananas will settle your upset stomach while Ginger will cure morning sickness and nausea. I was an avid user of Alka Seltzer, but now drink Ginger Ale as a substitute. Of course, it has more sugar, but more natural also.

DIARRHEA – Apples slow down, and in many cases stop diarrhea. Take the skin off an apple and when it turns brown, eat it. It may look like a bad apple, but it does the job.

ULCERS – Cabbage is an excellent source of Vitamin C and helps improve both type of ulcers.

BLADDER INFECTIONS – Because of its high acid, Cranberry Juice has been known to control harmful bacteria. Whenever I get a cold or suspect a sinus infection coming, I drink lots of Cranberry Juice.

BONE PROBLEMS – Bone fractures and osteoporosis can be averted by the manganese in pineapple. Although you can get canned and packaged pineapple, I would suggest fresh pineapple when you can get it.

PMS –  Eating Cornflakes reduce the effects of PMS.  Reduce PMS effects, reduce depression, fatigue, and anxiety.  My friends have tried and was successful with this.

BLOOD SUGAR IMBALANCE – The chromium in Broccoli and Peanuts help regulate your insulin and blood sugar.

VITAMIN SUPPLEMENTS are a good alternative to using foods for health.  Here is a good resource for your supplements.
