5 Facts about the Obama Care/Affordable Care Act – Open Season: November 15, 2014 – February 15, 2015

/

For all who missed the deadline last time, here’s another opportunity to research and get in on the Health Insurance provided by the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Yes, let’s call Obama Care by the real name: Affordable Care Act(ACA). Too many have laid the pitfalls and downfalls on President Obama because this very helpful insurance Act was passed under his Presidency. Good for him! This is not HIS insurance plan, it is what he pushed through and got passed for YOU! Don’t get hung up on the small stuff! Now let’s move on…

  • There will be more choices expanding under the ACA in 2015. There are some health insurers dropping out of ACA, there will be 77 new insurers offering plans in over 40 states in the coming year. Department of Health and Human Services reports this as a 25% increase. That’s progress.
  • Studies show Premium costs for a silver plan, which is the most popular plan offered under ACA, have dropped by at least 4% when one or more additional insurers come to an area. So if you’re living in a very popular area, chances are more will come, costs will drop further.
  • The overall trend that insurance carriers’ participation in 2014 was high, and clearly increasing in 2015 causing more competition and choices for consumers is very promising.
  • As stated before, there will be health insurers dropping out, but now you can change carriers by taking advantage of the ACA’s open enrollment period running from November 15, 2014 to February 15, 2015.
  • Each health insurer must provide at least two plans in each area. A Government Accountability Office (GAO) analysis shows an average of 41 plans are offered. Seems like there is more relative stability emerging in the marketplace and carriers really do want to participate.

Now all of this is great news for the insured and non-insured.

There is at least one affordable plan out there for everyone.

This is your time to simply get insured without worrying about all the politics.

3 SIMPLE FACTS TO REMEMBER:
